Xiaomi today launched a new device Mi A1 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SOC coupled with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The storage is limited to only one option, i.e., 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage. It runs stock Android 7.1.2 with no MIUI justifying it tagline "created by Xiaomi, powered by Google." The highlight here is the Android one and dual 12-megapixel rear camera system with 2x optical zoom and portrait mode similar to iPhone 7s, One Plus 5 and recently launched Galaxy Note8. It is near identical to the Mi 5X which was recently announced in China, except the later runs MIUI.
The specification includes 5.5 LCD screen wrapped under 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass 3. One of the highly advertised functions is the dual camera setup. It contains the array of two 13 MP camera. One standard camera with F2.0 aperture and another telephoto lens with F2.6 and 2X optical zoom. Xiaomi doesn't shy away from comparing it other dual camera flagship namely iPhone and One plus 5. In the launch event, it openly compared to them and stated that it delivered the same performance at exactly half the price. Other feature being Android One.

The One experience
For the first time, Mi has opted for stock Andriod instead of MIUI. The Android one platform was specifically made for India budget segment but could get a good start. Xiaomi Mi A1 breathes a new life the android on program making it the most powerful device till date. The collaboration with Google will allow Mi A1 to get all the Android version updates and security updates regularly as google will release them. It is scheduled to receive Android o bye year end and Andriod P somewhere in 2018. Other features include a 3080 mah battery, IR blaster, fingerprint reader, USB Type-C charging. Some additional features include a new 328V charger to handle frequent power fluctuation in India. There is dedicated amp for high-quality audio output.
Android One is one of the main highlights. MiA1 will get Oreo update by the end of the year and one of the first to get Android P somewhere in 2018

Priced at ₹14,999 there with three colour option to chose from, namely black gold and rose gold which will be coming later. It will be going for sale on 12th September on Flipkar

The phone comes with bare minimum installed apps just from. The only camera app, supposedly for the support of dual camera and Mi remote app, for using the IR blaster. The Mi A1 won't be a top seller for the company, then, but it aims to fulfill the requirements of power users with its compelling combination of software, hardware, and price.
